A message from Roberta and join us in welcoming new owner, Angie! Nanaimo Elements Spa Has Sold! I am delighted to announce that I have sold Nanaimo Elements to Angie Gignac, a local Nanaimo entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in the beauty industry. Angie will take ownership starting May 1, 2023. I am so proud of what we have accomplished and eternally grateful to all of our customers and staff for their unwavering support along the way. We arose from the ashes of a pandemic to find new pathways forward. While it was hard (and scary) at times, we are now stronger than ever! We are turning over the reins to Angie as the business is poised to pursue some fantastic options that Owen and I feel are best left to more youthful leadership. Thank you to Tina, Jesica, Maren, Melissa and Georgia for being the best team ever! We love you and cherish the memories and laughs along the way. A Little Bit About Angie:
Angie owns the very successful Violet Hair Lounge in downtown Nanaimo. Owen and I are so impressed with her energy and vision for the spa. Her continued interest in how we have made it all work over the past 10 years is a clear indicator that Nanaimo Elements will continue to represent an uncompromising commitment to the highest standards of customer service, retail products and environmental stewardship. Angie comes from a family of entrepreneurs and small business owners, so she gets it! Her creative ideas and attention to detail make her the perfect fit for a place like Nanaimo Elements. She started as a hairstylist over 20 years ago and since has owned her hair salon and even founded her own hair care line called Mara Jade. Angie is a strong believer that self care is the centrefold of life. Without self care, it’s difficult to show up in other parts of your life. She hopes to bring that ethic to Nanaimo Elements and create a space to indulge in the right kind of self care to enrich your life. Angie is looking forward to meeting everyone and is excited about what’s to come! What’s Next? (You’re Not Getting Rid of Me That Easily) Despite promising Owen he could finally start to enjoy full retirement ‘soon’ - Angie and I have decided the best way to approach my retirement is through a phasing out process. I will be staying on for the foreseeable future while slowly starting to limit my schedule, with Angie assisting in this transition. I have loved working as an aesthetician and business owner for the last 40 years, but it is stressful and tough on my body. I have to start preparing myself for the fact that I will not be in a position to look after all my clients in this next phase of life. Most of the Elements Team (including Tina and I!!) will be staying on under Angie’s leadership – and I am confident that we will continue to provide the excellent experience you have come to know and love here at Nanaimo Elements. I am looking forward to spending more time with my beautiful kids, their partners and three (soon to be four) incredible grandchildren. My heart is full! Love, Berta
